Door edge scuffs, small scrapes, localised stone chips, light scratches and kerbed plastic trim. The damage sits in one contained area rather than spreading across the panel.

If the damage came from a collision or another driver was involved, read our Insurance Work Support page before you pay for anything. It may not need to come out of your pocket.
The damaged area is flatted back to sound paint, filled and primed if the scratch has gone deep, then colour matched, sprayed and faded into the surrounding paintwork before lacquer goes on. Certain areas can be localised so the whole panel is not painted, mainly bumper corners and roof pillars. We are happy to assess and advise.

Every repair is done in the dedicated spray booth at our Bury St Edmunds workshop, where temperature, airflow and moisture are controlled and the panel is lit properly. That allows us to achieve quality results.

How contained the damage is, whether it has gone through the lacquer to primer or bare metal, and how awkward the colour is to blend. Send a photo to 07939 755264 for a free, no obligation quote.

Paint is unforgiving. Dust and moisture in the air spoil it as it cures, and a repair that looks fine on the day can dull or peel later. The booth filters the air, holds a steady temperature and controls moisture, so lacquer flows out flat and colour dries true. With 22 years in the trade, that is the only way we will do it.
We look at the damage in good light and tell you honestly whether a smart repair suits it.
Colour is mixed to your paint code and checked on a test card against the panel before anything goes on the car.
The new paint is faded into the surrounding panel, then flatted and polished so there is no visible edge.
We are just off the A11 and A14, with customers from Mildenhall, Newmarket, Thetford, Stowmarket, Haverhill, Sudbury, Ely and Cambridge. We offer our services to trade dealers and fleets as well as the general public.

Tell us what happened and we will say plainly whether a smart repair is the right answer, or whether something else is.
Once you are happy we book the car in and give you a realistic timeframe.
If the damage is more than a smart repair can hold, we will say so. Kerbed bumpers usually belong on Bumper Scuffs and Scratches, several panels on Bodywork Repairs, and dull or swirled paint on Paint Correction. We do not judge, we just fix it.

Small and Medium Area Repair Technique. Rather than repainting a whole panel, we work only the damaged area, colour match to your car and blend outwards so there is no hard edge. Same materials and same booth as a full respray.
How contained the damage is, whether it has broken through the lacquer, and how awkward the colour is to blend. Send a photo for a free, no obligation quote, and if the job is not worth doing we will say so.
The paint code is a starting point, not the answer. Cars with the same code drift apart after years of sun, so we mix to code, spray a test card and check it against your panel in daylight first.
It only works on contained damage. It is the wrong tool for a large flat area such as a bonnet or roof, where any blend will show, and for damage across two or more panels. We will say so.
Very often, yes. Most smart repairs cost less than a typical excess, and paying yourself means no claim on your policy, so your no claims discount and renewal premium are not affected. Report the incident either way, because reporting is not the same as claiming.
Yes, and end of lease damage is one of the most common reasons people call us. Small scuffs, kerbed trim and light scratches are exactly what a wear and tear inspection picks up. See our End of Lease Repairs page.
Because a smart repair is a smaller job than a respray, people are happy to travel for it. Most of our smart repair customers come from Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Mildenhall, with a steady run of cars out from Cambridge along the A14. See the full list on our areas we serve page.
