Colour matched booth spraying for items that are not cars

General Spray Painting in Bury St Edmunds: Not Just Cars

Our spraying is not limited to car bodywork. Garden furniture, bike frames, trailers, gates and railings and one off pieces all go through the same dedicated spray booth at our workshop in Bury St Edmunds, properly prepared and colour matched. Send a photo on WhatsApp and you will get an honest answer.

The sort of things that come through the booth

Garden furniture, bike and motorcycle frames and parts, trailers, gates and railings, household fittings and hardware, shop and signage items, and one off pieces.

If it is a car you want spraying, Full Resprays covers whole vehicle work and Alloy Wheel Refurbishment covers wheels, both using the same booth.

Some things are not worth spraying, and we will say so

Not everything takes paint well. Flexible plastics that bend in use, items coated in something that will not key, anything rotten or falling apart, pieces that need a specialist coating, and anything too large for the booth are all honest no answers. We would rather say so up front than hand back something that flakes.

Sprayed in the same booth as our cars

Your item goes into the same booth we use for vehicle work, where temperature, airflow and moisture are controlled, so the finish is even and cures properly rather than picking up dust and damp in the open air.

How the work is done

From garden furniture to gates, bike frames and fittings

Why a spray booth beats a rattle can in the garden

Most aerosol jobs fail for the same reasons: the item is not degreased or keyed, the wrong primer goes on, and a thin, uneven film dries in the open with dust, moisture and insects in it. In the booth we degrease, key and prime for the material we are actually spraying, lay down an even film and let it cure in clean, controlled air. That is the difference between a finish that survives a winter outdoors and one that is chipping by spring.

What we need from you before we start

Strip the item of fittings such as handles, hinges, glass and anything electrical if you can, because masking around them takes time and time is cost. Have an idea of the colour and finish you want, and tell us what the item is made of and whether it has been painted before.

How this differs from powder coating

Powder coating bakes a dry powder onto the item in an oven, so it only suits metal and is usually a single flat colour. We do wet spraying, the same process used on car bodywork, which suits more materials, allows precise colour matching and can be recoated later. If powder coating is the better route for your item, we will tell you.
