Full Car Resprays in Bury St Edmunds

When the lacquer is lifting, the colour has gone flat or you want a different colour altogether, patching no longer does the job. We respray single panels and whole cars at our workshop in Bury St Edmunds, matched to your factory colour and sprayed in our own dedicated booth. With 22 years in the trade, you will always get an honest opinion on whether it is worth doing.

The paintwork a respray puts right

Faded or chalky paint, lacquer flaking off roofs and bonnets, damage across several panels, mismatched colour from an earlier repair, and full colour changes. If most of the car is tired rather than one corner, a respray usually beats a series of patch repairs.

If another vehicle was involved, speak to us before you ring your insurer. Respray work is often covered as part of a claim, and we handle the communication and paperwork with your insurer on your behalf. See our Insurance Work Support page for how that works.

Preparation drives the cost

Most of the work in a respray happens before the colour goes on. Stripping trim, flatting back, treating rust, filling and priming all have to be right, because paint magnifies everything underneath it. Those preparation hours are what drive the cost. Send us a few photos on WhatsApp for a free, no obligation quote and a realistic timeframe, and if we find anything once the panels are stripped we will tell you straight away.

Sprayed in our dedicated booth

Every respray is done in our own spray booth at our Bury St Edmunds workshop. The booth controls temperature, airflow and moisture, which allows us to achieve quality results. Dust and moisture in the air spoil paint as it cures, which is why booth work holds its gloss and colour for years.

Factory colour matched

Your car's exact factory colour code is matched before we spray, and checked against your actual paint before we commit, so the new colour blends with the rest of the bodywork.

How a respray is carried out

Preparation first, paint last

When a full respray is the right call

A full respray earns its keep when the paintwork has failed across the car rather than in one place: lacquer lifting on the roof and bonnet, colour that has gone flat, or so many separate repairs that no two panels quite agree. It is also the route for a genuine colour change, and what we recommend before selling a car that is sound but looks tired. We do the same work for dealers and trade customers preparing cars for sale.

What we see most often

Lacquer peel and fading on roofs, bonnets and boot lids, where years of sun have done the damage.

Damage or corrosion across several panels, where patch repairs would never quite line up.

Full colour changes, including door shuts and apertures so the old colour never shows through.
